The following two lists give the names of the companies that came to recruit USC students in Fall 2001.

Note:
1. The number of companies was low this time than normal due to the economic slump.
2. The companies below generally were looking for both full-time and internship positions.
3. Approximately 60% or a bit more of the following companies by policy do not sponser an H1 Visa for F1 Visa Students, and hence were hiring only US citizens/Green Card Holders. However, most of the purely technology companies were open to hire F1 Visa Students.
4. Even those who were hiring, were hiring less people than they usually hire.
5. Getting into good companies here is more harder than in India, since here they first shortlist people by resumes, then have an interview at the college campus, then have a day long interview at the company campus (on a paid trip).

[IMP: Many students here get a job by applying to companies directly. So on campus recruitment is CERTAINLY NOT the only way of getting a job in the US.]
